Cloudland Canyon is an absolute gem of Georgia’s beautiful state parks. From an epic viewpoint overlooking Cloudland’s mountain landscape to hiking down to a stunning view of the gorgeous waterfall. Cloudland has yet to disappoint us when it comes to scenery. We have shot here around 10 times and each time we come back it just keeps stunning us with its beauty! Kevin came all the way from Canada and Julie is an Atlanta native. They had one of their first dates at Cloudland and decided that it was definitely the place they would want to elope at since Kevin’s side of the family could not come down for a wedding due to Covid.
Summer Elopements in Cloudland, Canyon – Rising Fawn, GA
Summer elopements can be a bit tricky at one of Georgia’s most visited state parks. First, you’ll want to make sure you reserve a cabin in the park that way you always have the option of getting in through the gates. One time we shot an elopement here and the park got so crowded that they stopped letting people in, forcing us and our bride + groom to wait about 30 minutes before getting in which could be bad if you’re wanting to have your ceremony at the waterfall due to lighting! Another minor issue is the crowd swimming and playing in the water at the waterfall while trying to get photos. Most people are super respectful and understand what’s going on but others are clueless and could care less but with that said, its nothing a little photoshop won’t fix! 🙂 The best option for a summer elopement in Cloudland is staying at the top of the Canyon and saying your vows at the scenic overlook. Everyone that sees you here will always give you space and respect that you are in wedding attire.

- Pick a ceremony location – If it’s just the two of you, you have the whole park to choose from but the best options are the overlook or the waterfall.
